A gently paced cycle ride that takes you past the iconic sites and local hot spots of Buenos Aires’ Palermo neighbourhood. Away from the bustling city streets, visit a range of sights including the Recoleta Cemetery, the Rose Garden and the trendy Plaza Serrano.
Itinerary
The bike trip begins at the Vamos Spanish office. There is plenty of space in our driveway and garage to try out bikes and re-adjust if necessary. Your expert local guide will give you a safety briefing before you head out onto the streets of Buenos Aires.
We cruise to the beginning of the city’s new bicycle friendly paths at Plaza Italia. Heading past the zoo we stop at several of the statues and monuments that are scattered within the Palermo parks. Continue along the paths to the Recoleta Cemetery, the final resting place of Evita Peron. Travellers are given time to wander through the cemetery and given a briefing on Evita’s role in recent Argentine history.
Back on the bikes cross the bridge past the stylish Law Faculty of the University Buenos Aires towards Floris Genérica, the large metal solar powered flower sculpture that is becoming a new icon of Buenos Aires.
Retrace your ‘wheels’ back to the parks of Palermo, a green haven within the city limits and join the locals as they walk, jog, pedal or skate around the lakes. Turn into Barrio Chino. Although one of the worlds smallest Chinatowns in the world, covering just a few small streets, the barrio is full of unique characters.
The final section of this unique Buenos Aires city tour is through the trendy backstreets of Palermo, where boutique clothing stores, up and coming art studios and new coffee shops line the cobblestone streets. Stop at Plaza Serrano for a break, a drink and the classic past time, people watching.
From Plaza Serrano it is a short cycle back to the Vamos Spanish Academy office where the Buenos Aires sightseeing tour ends.

While it may not be customary to you, it is of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your experience, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across many Intrepid Urban Adventures destinations. Please consider this when budgeting for your extra expenses on this trip
