Itinerary:
This Buenos Aires tour meets at the Plaza de Mayo, where we begin our exploration into the city’s rich culture and history, by admiring the architecture of the surrounding buildings, including La Casa Rosada. We discuss the history of the Plaza de Mayo, throughout centuries, and highlight the role of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo.
Next, our Buenos Aires Urban Adventures tour heads underground for a real local urban adventure. The local subway train of Buenos Aires is the oldest in South America, and will take us directly to Congress, an impressive building on Avenida de Mayo. We continue to meander the streets and explore the historically and culturally significant places of the area, including Plaza San Martin.
Yet another intriguing element of Buenos Aires’ and Argentina’s history includes that of Las Malvinas (the Argentine name for the Falklands), which we will discuss at the Malvinas Commemorative Square.
Next, we head off into the glitz and glamour of Recolate, one of Buenos Aires’ wealthiest neighbourhoods, before ending our tour with time in Recoleta Cemetery. This elaborate and decorative cemetery is the final resting place of many of Argentina’s most famous historical figures, including Eva Peron (Evita).
Your Buenos Aires Urban Adventures tour will end in Recoleta Cemetery, leaving you ample time to explore the calm, artistic passageways of cemetery at your own pace.
Your trip:
For your Urban Adventure you will be in a small group of a maximum of 12 people.
Tipping:
If you are happy with the services provided by your local guides and drivers a tip - though not compulsory - is appropriate. While it may not be customary to you, it is of great significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service, and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across many Intrepid Urban Adventures destinations. Please consider this when budgeting for your extra expenses on this tour.
