Argentine Gestures

Due to the deep Italian influence in Argentine culture, they love to talk with their hands. There are many gestures that are very commonly used and you can find numerous books talking about and describing such cultural phenomenon.

Among hundreds of these gestures, one that may cause some wide eyes from the westerners is the one where one quickly brushes the back of his hand under his chin. This gesture in the western world has a very rude meaning of ‘telling someone off’, but in Argentina, it simply and innocently means ‘I don’t know!'
